Welcome to the Independent Centre for the Development of Environmental Resources (ICDER).

We are an NGO based in the town Cluj-Napoca/Romania and founded the centre in 2006. Our aim has been to implement programs and projects that contribute to the defense of the constitutional right to a clean and environmentally balanced environment; to the development of the non-governmental sector in Romania and to the improvement of decision-making processes in public administration.

ICDER is a member of several active and growing environmental movements in Romania such as the campaign to Save Rosia Montana, the campaign to ban cyanide in Romania's mining sector, the campaign against genetically modified organisms, etc.

ICDER provides legal advice and strategic support to NGOs involved in grassroots campaigns against recklessly planned infrastructure or commercial proposals. ICDER is also a partner of Transparency International s project to actively promote the enforcement of a new legislation on the protection of whistle-blowers in public administration.
